Asake joins Boomplay’s Golden Club with 100 million streams

Nigerian singer, Asake, has joined Boomplay’s Golden Club after amassing over 100 million streams on the music discovery platform.

The “Sungba” hitmaker joins Black Sheriff, Burna Boy, Naira Marley, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Omah Lay and Rayvanny who have clocked and surpassed the 100M streams milestone. According to Boomplay, this new accomplishment is largely attributed to the success of singles and albums such as “Ome Ope” with over 26 million streams and “Ololade Asake” EP which has surpassed 27 million streams.

Asake remains committed to producing and releasing commercially successful singles since his breakout. He earned mainstream prominence with the release of his viral singles, “Mr Money” (Remix) ft. Zlatan & Peruzzi and “Lady” which received massive responses from several online media and top celebrities. The singer will release his debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe” on Friday September 2. The 12-track album will contain lead singles “Terminator”, “PBUY” and “Sungba”.

Elsewhere, Burna Boy, last week, chalked up a historic 400 million streams on Boomplay music streaming platform—becoming the first-ever African artist to score this milestone.

His new achievement comes barely a month after the Grammy award-winning Nigerian afrobeats artiste was celebrated as the second recording and performing African musician, after Kizz Daniel, to hit the 300 million streams milestone on Africa’s most demanding streaming platform and also arrives just days after his latest album “Love, Damini” clocked the 100 million streams mark on the platform.
