President of the 4th Republic, His excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assigned the forme Deputy Minister incharge of Lands and Natural Resources, Barbara Oteng Gyasi, as the new Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
This come at the back, after the President of the 4th republic made some series of changes amongst the ruling New Patriotic Party governmental appointees and presidential staffers. The unacquainted reshuffling recorded other Nine(9) ministers of states being assigned to different offices.
A section of entertainment critiques and showbiz personalities tabled a complain and lamented bitterly over the incompetent and slow pace at which the then minister in charge of the sector, Madam Catherine Afeku was carrying out assignment.
In a News release signed by the Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin, the changes made by President Nana Akuffo-Addo to his government, has seen the then Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Catherine Afeku being designated as the Minister of State of the president, assigned to the office of the Senior Minister. Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih is now the Upper West Regional Minister-Designate. The former Regional Minister, Suleiman Alhassan, has been reassigned.
Former Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, cum the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency, Gifty Twum Ampofo is now the Deputy Minister of Education. Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency who doubled as the former Deputy of Works and Housing, Freda Prempeh has been assigned as the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Mmeber of Parliament for Cape Coast North Contituency and former deputy Minister of Education, Barbara Ayisi Asher is now the deputy Minister of Works and Housing. Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, Naana Eyiah is now the Deputy Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources.
The honorable Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency, Alex Kodwo Kom Abban, has now been handed the mantle to take over the office of Deputy Minister-Designate for Health, with, the Member Parliament for Jaman South, Yaw Afful assigned to the office of the Deputy Minister-Designate for Aviation.
President Nana Akufo-Addo is hopeful that parliament will expedite the vetting of the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, the Regional Minister-designate the Upper West, as well as the Deputy Ministers-designate for Aviation, Lands and Natural Resources, and Health so they can their respective offices.
