Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] Dr Bawumia has been scheduled for vetting today, Tuesday, 23rd September 2025.
Social media platform dedicated to supporting the former Vice President and 2024 Presidential candidate hinted at the forthcoming engagement.
Later today, Dr Bawumia is expected to appear before national executives of the NPP to discuss his plans and vision ahead of the 2026 Presidential primaries. He will also be outlining his willingness to lead the party into victory in the 2028 general elections if elected a flagbearer.
Some supporters of the former Veep have reacted to the upcoming vetting, wishing him well. All candidates hoping to win the party’s mandate to lead in the upcoming general election must complete the vetting process. Its goals are to guarantee openness, equity, and adherence to the internal policies and procedures of the NPP.
The party’s presidential primaries are scheduled for January 31, 2026.
With a number of prominent individuals slated to run for the position of NPP leader in the 2028 elections, the next primaries are anticipated to get a lot of attention.
These include former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
