The nominees of the fourth edition of Emerging Music Awards (EMAs) in Ghana have been announced ahead of the presentation ceremony slated for Accra on October 1.
Ekow Marvel leads this year’s nominations with six. He is followed by Phrings Icon, who has five nods, and Abbi Ima, Skannah, and JZyNo, who each have four. Meanwhile, Prophet Joseph Atarah, Vanila, Long Life, Abbi Ima, Xupa, and Ekow Marvel have been named to the shortlist for the Artist of the Year award, which was won last year by hip hop artist Black Sherif. Skannah, Best Gally, Jay Baba, and Buzu Wani are the other nominees in the coveted category.

The annual event, organized by Kusstar Entertainment in collaboration with Kri8 Concept, honors deserving up-and-coming musicians from Ghana’s across major genres. This year’s ceremony is themed “Give the Music A Chance”.
