Following the successful release and reception of her first single ‘Azaa’ this year, Feli is set to tour the very region that inspired the song. ‘Azaa’, which means ‘Celebration’ in the Ewe dialect was recorded with the very purpose of highlighting the vibrant and colourful culture of the people in the Volta. In a move to cement this intent, starting today Feli will kick off series of activities in a build up to a major festival in 2020.
The song and it’s colorful video is a representation of the vibrant Ewe culture in Ghana, giving Ghanaians a reason to celebrate the unique features of our culture, and others, a reason to come visit the heart of West-Africa region, Ghana. The fast tempo song is produced by Fizzi Marley.
The sanitation campaign tour has the objective of enhancing good public health conditions related to clean drinking water and adequate treatment and disposal of human wastes and sewage. The tour will also aim to protect human health by providing a clean environment that will stop the transmission of disease, especially through the fecal–oral route.
Speaking in an interview with Gerrard-Israel on www.georgebritton.com, the ‘Love Me Now’ hit-maker revealed that, diarrhea, a main cause of malnutrition and stunted growth in children, can be reduced through sanitation, adding that, there are many other diseases which are easily transmitted in communities that have low levels of sanitation, such as ascariasis (a type of intestinal worm infection or helminthiasis), cholera, hepatitis, polio, schistosomiasis, trachoma, to name just a few.
Feli Nuna revealed that, a range of sanitation technologies and approaches, including community-led total sanitation, container-based sanitation, ecological sanitation, emergency sanitation, environmental sanitation, onsite sanitation and sustainable sanitation has been orderly arranged to educate natives on how to curb the menace.
The Beehyve Entertainment signee however stated that, the overall purposes of sanitation tour are to provide a healthy living environment for everyone, to protect the natural resources, such as surface water, groundwater, soil, and to provide safety, security and dignity for people when they defecate or urinate
The tour which is in partnership with Kaya Tours , will see participants visit parts of the Volta Region and then proceed to Lome. Feli will also take the opportunity to launch her Sanitation Campaign in Senior High School’s across the region. She’ll be pushing the message of the need to recycle , reduce and reuse plastic materials as a way to combat pollution and the effects that come with it.
Felicia Nuna Akosua Tawiah is a Ghanaian rapper, singer, song writer, director and producer, popularly known as Feli Nuna. She signed her first record deal as ‘Felly’ with Lynx entertainment in 2012 and released her first official single ‘Ghana Girl Swag’ but took a 2 year hiatus right after the release. She then resurfaced with a new rebrand as Feli Nuna in 2015 under Beehyve Entertainment with ‘I like Am’ and has been active till present.
Feli ’s next single ‘Azumah’, is scheduled to be released in July this year.
