Fireboy DML, a Nigerian musician, debuted in the top 30 of the Official UK Top 40 Charts on Friday, December 31, 2021, with a remix of his blockbuster hit track, ‘Peru,’ starring Ed Sheeran. The song became Nigeria’s first to receive one million views on YouTube from Nigerians.
The single has already debuted at No. 52 on the Rhythmic Radio charts in the United States. This follows a hectic six-month period for Fireboy, who has already released two albums in his career: Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps and Apollo. He plans to release his third studio album later in 2022. While he has recently shared his time between the United States and Nigeria, he conducted his maiden gig on January 2, 2022 at the Balmoral, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
