Earlier, H.E. Mrs Akufo-Addo through The Rebecca Foundation made similar donations of hospital equipment including ambulances to some selected municipalities and health facilities across the country.

However, making the donations on behalf of the First lady and The Rebecca Foundation, Director of Operations at the Office of The First Lady, Mrs Akosua Newman stated that, Mrs. Akufo-Addo and The Rebecca Foundation is determined to work towards their set objective of contributing to making health care accessible and affordable to the good people of Ghana, wherever they are.

She said while the Foundation recognized the effort government is making to re-equip the country’s health facilities with ultra-modern hospital equipment and ambulances, it is imperative for corporate institutions and benevolent individuals to contribute their quota by identifying such needy health institutions, especially those in remote areas and support them, even before government gets there.

Mrs. Newman gave the assurance of the continuous work by the First Lady and The Rebecca Foundation to identify essential needs of the vulnerable in society and work hard to assist in diverse ways, adding that, It is their sole responsibility to support those who inhabits remote parts of the country and deprived of some health equipment and assistance.

Expressing their deepest appreciation for the continuous kind gestures of the First lady and The Rebecca Foundation, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sekondi Constituency, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, on behalf of the beneficiary institutions said they were very happy to be recipients of Mrs Akufo-Addo’s benevolence.

According to Hon. Egyapa Mercer, though they have been hearing and reading in the news of the good works of the Rebecca Foundation in bringing comfort to the people, they least expected to be called so soon to be beneficiaries and so were elated when they received invitations to come over to receive the equipment.

The Sekondi MP assured the Office of The First Lady and The Rebecca Foundation of them putting the equipment to good use for the full benefit of the beneficiary institutions.
