Minister Designate for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has said that the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Government has invested in human capital more than any other Government through initiatives such as the free SHS and Planting for Food and Jobs policies.
Ken Ofori Atta appeared before the 8th Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th March 2021 to be questioned and vetted as Minister Designate for Finance as he was not available during the vetting processes.
Ofori Atta was fled to the United States for treatment following a post COVID- 19 complications he had after recovering from the novel virus.
Speaking before the Committee, he said Government has tried to renegotiate judgement debt and will try to reduce it.
He said his Ministry will not be structuring transactions that will bring the laws of the country into disrepute.
The finance Minister Designate also noted that he has not interest in breaching the country’s constitution.
” I have no interest in breaching the constitution. Let’s get interactive of questioning whether the current uses of our resources are the best way to use it and find a way to get more equity into our system and ensure that we follow the rule” He said.
” We have learnt quite a bit between 2017 and 2020 regarding areas of effectiveness and execution of Government work that needs to be deployed to ensure the president’s vision is realized” Ken Ofori Atta added.
