Roselyn Ngissah has been nominated for the “Best Actress in a comedy movie or TV series” category at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) for her role in the “Red Carpet” movie.
Now in its ninth edition, the annual AMVCA recognizes outstanding achievements in the African film and television industry and has become one of the most prestigious awards in the continent’s entertainment industry. This year’s edition of the scheme is a three-day event with the award show scheduled for May 20, 2023 with a live broadcast across all Africa Magic Channels on DStv and GOtv.
The award-winning Ghanaian actor is nominated alongside Albert Oluwatoyin- Visa On Arrival, Bimbo Ademoye – Selina, Funke Akindele – Battle On Buka Street, Grace Wacuka – Married to Work, Mercy Johnson – Battle On Buka Street, and Mercy Johnson Onogie – Passport.
Roselyn joins the likes of Lydia Forson, Gloria Sarfo, Adjetey Anang, Pascal AKA, and Raquel as the fifth Ghanaian to receive the prestigious honor. In 2018, Lydia Forson won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Kukua in Jadesola Osiberu’s Romantic comedy ‘Isoken’. Adjetey Anang was also awarded the Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Boi in Peter Sedufias ‘Keteke’. In the year 2020, Gloria Sarfo also won for her role in ‘Perfect Picture.’
