Ghanaian Dancehall Giants Indefinitely Banned From VGMAs.

Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been banned indefinitely from partaking in the successive Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme(VGMAs), after their conducts marred the just ended 20th edition of the award ceremony.

The two Reggae/Dancehall giants have also been stripped off all the awards they won at the last ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), as their demeanour and deportment breached the code, ethics and conducts of the awards scheme.

A board member of the awards scheme and CEO of Slip Entertainment, Mark Okraku Mantey, explained that, the board has the right to dismiss or disqualify any nominee who misbehaves or brings the Awards into disrepute, thus, denigrate the reputation of the awards scheme.

This decision was taken by Charter House, organizers of the VGMA and was annouced by Chairman of the 2019 VGMA board, Amandzeba Nat Brew at a press conference on Thursday, 23rd of May, 2019, 10:00am.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were arrested by the police on Sunday over a brawl that erupted between their camps at the 20th anniversary of the VGMA that led to the public disturbance on the night.

Pandemonium broke out shortly after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ when Shatta Wale and his team were seen going towards the stage, their intentions unclear.

This arbitrament also states that, the “Shugah” hitmaker, Stonebwoy, and the “Kpu Kpa” hitmaker, Shatta Wale will not participate in Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nomination, selections, and performances.

This judgement divest Stonebwoy, whose governement name is Livingstone Etse Satekla and Shatta Wale born, Charles Nii-Armah Mensah the functions, power and title of their respective categories won at the event, and are expected to return the won plaques in their possession to the organizers of the show, Charter House Ltd.

Meanwhile, prior to the news conference held by Charter House, Shatta Wale upon sober reflections rescued himself from participating from Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in the future.
