”I Remain Ghana’s Greatest Music Export” – Rapper Kwadee Reveals.

Legendary Ghanaian born rapper, Jerry Anaba, known in Showbiz as Okomfo Kwadee has reavealed that, he is regarded with great favour, approval, or affection especially by the general public, compared to giant Ghanaian music icons, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.

According to the one-time biggest rap sensation Okomfo Kwadee, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy, who are currently seen as Ghana’s largest music export, are yet to achieve the popularity he enjoyed in his heydays, as a prolific rapper.

One might see Kwadee’s argument because, in fairness, he was a pretty big musician. But the ‘Yeeko Mmaa Pe’ hitmaker believes he has not quite fallen out of favour with the critical mass of Ghanaians stating that when a poll is being conducted between himself and the A-list artistes in Ghana now, he will surpass them all.

After being signed onto Vybetown Records, Okumfo Kwadee’s debut album dubbed “Kwaadee” which is also the title track brings out the ingenuity of Okomfoo. With his powerful and traditional lyric that is very typical of the true Ghanaian, he was surely poised to climb high the ladder of Kasahare and take it to a completely different level. In the first of its kind, Okomfoo goes back to the grassroots narrating stories (just like in anansesem) while rhyming in a way that everyone who listens embraces

Speaking in an interview, Okomfo Kwadee explained that, none of the assumed Ghana’s largest music exports(Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale) have gotten to his artistry peak, adding that, he was a nominee for Channel O Awards (2003) and KORA Music Awards (2005) even though he didn’t perform at any musuical concert.

Exhibiting self-importance is an art when one speaks of rap music culture and so it is not surprising when rappers do that. However, Kwadee’s most recent claim could be contested owing to the fact that he last had a hit song over 10 years ago.

Okomfo Kwadee stated that, music fanatics are familiar with his brand due to the music he produced, explaining that, both the old and new generation, chiefs and prominent people adhere to his music, as a result of good lyrics and productions.
