Celebrated dance artist and choreographer Incredible Zigi, has been nominated in the “Best African Dancer” at the 8th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA). The awards night will hold on November 14th, 2021 — celebrating African music and African music artists. The event promises to be another historic AFRIMMA edition this year as African stars hoist their country’s flags in different categories of nominations.

Inching towards a decade of professional dancing, Incredible Zigi is now in the league to win this prestigious award with dancers from Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa, emerging as the only Ghanaian nominated for the award.

He has featured in the music videos of prominent artists such as Davido, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Cassper Nyovest and others. His dance moves have gone global, with celebrities such as Janet Jackson infusing some of his dance steps in her choreography and has performed it on tours and in her music videos.

Early October, Incredible Zigi was announced brand influencer for Guinness Ghana’s ‘Black Shines Brightest’ campaign – a new Pan African campaign celebrating the iconic black liquid enjoyed all over the continent.

The dancer, who has made waves and strides in his field acknowledged that the biggest highlight of his career yet has been his selection to run the recently launched campaign by Guinness, which in his own words is ‘Unbelievable’.

Building his entire dance career on his own, Incredible Zigi started by dancing at malls and small street events. Now he is an icon inspiring millions of young creatives in Ghana and the face of Black Shines Brightest Campaign.

Indeed, it is people like Zigi, young budding creatives and culture makers who are leaving the past and all its hindrances by carving a niche for themselves in their crafts that the ‘Black Shines Brightest’ seeks to identify and celebrate;

Speaking at a Guinness Creative Master Class event which was part of the Bright House Experience organized in Tamale, Incredible Zigi said,” A whole Guinness choosing me as one of the culture-makers feels so great. It has been the biggest highlight of my dance career”.

Sharing his experience with young and aspiring creatives from Tamale, Incredible Zigi said he had worked extremely hard for several years before making waves and eventually being recognized by Guinness to headline a campaign. He encouraged the young creatives to carve a niche for themselves by nurturing their creative skills and talents.
