Jean Feier Out With Sensational Music From The Heart, ‘Makoma’

Processed with VSCO with v2 preset

Jean Feier’s second official single and highly anticipated music Makoma, long-awaited by her fans and curators in different parts of the world is finally out.

“ Makoma “ is an alternative song infused with high life elements that originate from Ghana, West Africa.

The singer’s minimalistic approach in delivering poetry in 3 languages leaves you floating at the moment.  Her effortless transitions while telling a story of bittersweet love, are both melodious and earnest.

The song starts with a confession. Carefully laid out, like it’s a secret message to the one that holds her heart.

Her first switch from English is into German.

Jean’s vocals deliver an all too familiar question after speaking on being the one to stand by her love even if it were against the world “ I wonder if you are ready”.

The chorus starts with Twi lyrics and translates to “ I have given you all my heart and now even God knows it’s too late for me. Do what you must my love it’s too late for me anyway “

The outro leaves us in a trance as she hums over the instrumental. The song approaches the end while a popular Ghanaian chant gives us a nostalgic feel.
Jean is tapping into all the things that framed her musical mind growing up and it’s both evident in her writing and beat selection. Introducing more of her heritage into her layers while staying true to her powerful writing.
