KiDi announces 11-date North American tour | GET TICKETS HERE

KiDi has scheduled a tour of North America for the entire month of March. The tour has been named “The Golden Boy” after his well-received 2021 sophomore album of the same name, which spawned the cross-over hit “Touch It” and its 2022 remix featuring American rapper Tyga.

The tour, which is being organized by Duke Concept, will take the Accra-based afrobeats, afropop, and highlife debonair singer to 11 cities in the US and Canada. On the road, he will be promoting his latest body of work, “4Play,” which was released in September 2022 with “Champagne” as its lead single. He will also be performing songs from his catalog, including 2021’s “Golden Boy” album, which features Kuami Eugene, Patoranking, and Joey B, as well as colossal hits released since he gained mainstream recognition.

On The Golden Boy, KiDi avoided the fabled sophomore slump that could have followed 2019’s critically acclaimed Sugar by delivering a sure-footed album that displays refined Afropop sensibilities and his penchant for crafting hits to suit any occasion.

A pianist and confident producer in his own right, KiDi helmed six songs on The Golden Boy and split that role on the remaining eight tracks. For the first time in his career, the artist accepted tracks penned by others, chiefly because they, as he puts it, “sounded very different from everything else on the album.” The result is rich and varied songcraft that further establishes KiDi’s Afropop dominance.

KiDi found initial fame with 2017’s “Odo” and international renown with 2021’s “Touch It,” both of which showcase his knack for crafting melodic songs that blend Ghanaian highlife with R&B and dancehall. Crowned the overall Artiste of the Year at the 2022 VGMAs, he garnered a huge cult following after the commercial success of his singles “Say You Love Me,” “Odo,” “Adiepena,” “Thunder,” “Mr. Badman,” “Sugar Daddy,” and “Enjoyment.”
