NYA was born and raised in Toronto, Canada where she was educated at Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School and attended Sheridan College where she studied Information Technology.

She looks up to artists such as Toni Braxton, SWV, Erykah Badu, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Rihanna, D’Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, and Musiq Soulchild. As her love for R&B, Soul, and Afrobeats music grew she began making covers of popular songs including, “Biibi Ba” by Sarkodie.

Nya has perfected the various ways to connect to the very core of her listeners’ emotions. With a passion for sharing with her listeners the kind of deep-belonging she finds in music, Nya recognizes the originality of African sounds and finds inspiration in their authenticity,

Some of her standout attributes include her vibrant spirit and sonic versatility. These attributes account for a large part if not all evident blend of elements of her Africanicity with current urban trends. She is breaking into the Ghanaian creative scene with an urgency. This already has her collaborating with top music producers such as Kuvie, Zodiac, and TubhaniMuzik.

To top her list of qualities with her charm and charisma, Nya is poised to captivate a wide audience.
