Kofi Kinaata, Richie Mensah, Don Jazzy, Tony Tomety and more win at the 7th EMY Africa Awards

The winners of this year’s EMY Africa Awards were announced at a presentation ceremony at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre at the weekend.

Music sensation, Kofi Kinaata, was crowned “Man of the Year”.

Richie Mensah, founder of Lynx Entertainment, emerged as the “Young Achiever Male” award winner. Music sensation, Kofi Kinaata, was crowned “Man of the Year”. Creative designer, Tony Tomety, won the “Creative & Support Art” award of the year while clothing brand and movement Free the Youth was adjudged the “Discovery of the Year” award-winner.

Celebrated music entrepreneur, Don Jazzy, and actor Richard Mofe Damijo emerged as the winners of the “Continental Music Icon Award” and “Continental Film Icon Award” respectively.

Established in 2015, the EMY Africa Magazine-organized awards seek to honour and celebrate eminent men exclusively. The program honors outstanding individuals in a variety of fields, including the creative arts, business, the media, technology, sports, and health. At the 2021 edition, the organizers added the Woman of the Year and Young Achiever (Female) categories to celebrate female achievers.
