‘Obi Nyani Me’ Crooner, Patience Nyarko Threatens NPP With Legal Action.

Ghanaian contemporary Gospel musician who leads the saint in worship, Patience Nyarko, has revealed that, she will take a judicial proceeding against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for using her intellectual property at its just ended delegate congress without seeking for authorized approval.

The Minister of the word of God stated that, the New Patriotic Party government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo during its congress in the Eastern Regional Capital, Koforidua confirmed and employed her viral Gospel genre of music ‘Obi Nyani Me’ as their theme song without her favorable reception.

According to Patience Nyarko, it is unlawful and unsatisfactory; it is a big offence to engage someone’s intellectual property without the person’s knowledge, adding that, she believes the New Patriotic Party is a well endowed political organizations which abreast to all these legalities of the copy right.

The New Patriotic Party government held it Annual Delegates Conference of the party last year at Koforidua which brought party delegates, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives as well as party constituency executives and supporters from far and near.

Speaking as a guest in a phone-in dialogue with Kpekpo Maxwell Justice(KMJ) on an Accra based Hitz 103.9 FM’s morning dubbed ‘DaybreakHitz’, the crooner revealed that, she was notified that, amidst the New Patriotic Party congress, an active member of the political party, Lord Commey declared her song ‘Obi Nyani Me’ as their theme song for the occasion borders on copy right without her being au courant with it.

According to Patience Nyarko, the motive behind this necessitated development of taking legal actions against the political party comes at the back after measures put in place to reach the governing political party proved futile, explaining that, her management had written officially to the General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, but yielded no positive result.

She added that, music lovers perceive her to have sold the song to NPP, making it very difficult for he to receive aid from others as they think she has taken money from the ruling political party, adding that, her management think about her fans, reason why they first considered what the party discussed with them to make peace.

Meanwhile, the management of the Gospel singer, Patience Nyarko reached the deputy General Secretary of the political party, Lawyer Obiri Boahene and he apologized on behalf of the party, and entreating the management to exercise patience for the matter to be solved in a amicably.
