PUMA teams up with Davido for new special collection to celebrate the singer’s roots

Global clothing brand, Puma, and Davido have teamed up to create a special collection that celebrates the singer’s roots.

The aesthetic PUMA x DAVIDO collection is filled with bold, statement pieces inspired by the award-winning artist’s roots. The design incorporates the traditional colours of Nigeria and features “We Rise By Lifting Others” stitched on the pants and printed at the back of the shirts-an obvious nod which captures the singer’s philosophy of supporting others and changing generations.

The new drop will consists of regular fit, ribbed crew neck, all-over-print, tee, logo tee, graphic tee, pants, shorts, BB Cap, reversible bucket, and jacket. The full line of products can be seen at puma.com and is forthcoming on April 6 alongside a meet and greet ceremony at PUMA stores in New York and UK ahead of his scheduled shows on April 2 and April 6 respectively.

“My collection with PUMA will be released globally on April 7th! Thank you to everyone for patiently waiting on this, it means the world to me. I will be doing meet and greets at PUMA stores in New York and the UK, just before my shows and would love to see you all there!” the singer wrote on Instagram.

PUMA X DAVIDO collection comes as the first collaborative piece since the Nigerian-based singer’s historic signing as the brand’s global ambassador in 2021. The long-term partnership underscores the company’s commitment to the rapidly growing African market. In September 2022, Davido made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week 2022 to represent PUMA.

Meanwhile, Davido has announced that his new album Timeless will be released on 31 March on Columbia Records. The singer broke the news across social media with a video montage mapping the past 11 years of his career, and ending months of silence. His only public appearance prior to the announcement was his performance at the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in December.

The new collection will be his first studio release since 2020’s A Better Time.
