Songs by Ghanaian musicians have made it onto US Vice President Kamala Harris’ “My Travels: Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia” playlist.

The compilation, which is currently accessible on global music streaming and discovery platform Spotify, is intended to highlight and amplify the artists and sounds from the vice president’s travels across Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia. On her week-long trip, Her Excellency Harris will listen to songs by Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, M3NSA, Moliy, Herman Suede, Amaarae, T’neeya, Ria Boss, and more.

The 25-song selection includes Black Sherif’s crossover success “Kwaku The Traveller,” “Country Side” by Sarkodie (f/ Black Sherif), M3NSA’s “Fanti Love Song,” Kuami Eugene’s Rotimi-assisted smash “Cryptocurrency,” Ria Boss’ “Call Up,” Moliy’s “Ghana Bop,” “Kumbaya” by Herman Suede, Alte singer Amaarae’s “Reckless & Sweet” and “Pretty Mind” by T’neeya.

“I am releasing a playlist featuring the artists from my travels across Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, including many of the Ghanaian and Ghanaian-American artists I met today like Black Sherif and Amaarae,” H.E Harris wrote in Twitter statement.

The playlist also features songs by other artists, such as Baaba J, Marioo, Harmonize, Platform Tz, Mbosso, Jay Melody, Alikiba, Zuchu, Moses Sumney, and more.

The U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Ghana on Sunday (March 26) to begin her week-long tour of the continent aimed at increasing investment in Africa and helping spur economic growth, as well as offering a counter to the influence of rival China. She will be in Ghana from March 26-29, then in Tanzania from March 29-31. Her final stop is Zambia, on March 31 and April 1.

Her Excellency met with Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo on March 27 to talk about China’s involvement in debt restructuring as well as its involvement in economic and technological issues in Africa that the United States finds troubling. As part of her activities, she also visited Vibrate studio, a community recording music studio in Accra, where she met with some Ghanaian musicians, Black Sherif and Amaarae. She is expected to go to Cape Cod Castle later today.
