South African rapper, Costa Titch, has been reported dead, shortly after collapsing on stage amid his live performance in South Africa. The unfortunate incident occurred as the 27-year-old musician was playing at the Ultra South Africa Festival at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Just before midnight, entertainment analyst Phil Mphela announced Costa Titch’s passing on Twitter, and a torrent of dejected responses from colleagues in the field followed. Junior Da Rocka, a fellow musician, and Julius Malema, the head of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), are among others who appear to allude to the rapper’s passing.
His passing occurs just three weeks after unidentified hitmen killed well-known rapper AKA at a café in Durban.
Costa Titch, whose true name is Costa Tsobanoglou, was born and raised in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, and he started his musical career in 2018. In the latter half of 2022, the Amapiano video for his track Big Flexa, which had been published in December 2021, had received the most views. Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida, Man T, and C’buda M all appear on the song.
