Droopy Stonebwoy is set to leave Zylofon Media early this year as his contract will expire soon, we can confirm.
With the turn of events, the BET award-winner and Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall – reggae artiste and his followers should be happy now as the wait for unhappy Stonebwoy with his label is over as he readies to part ways with the record label soon.
The four year contract with his label was revised to one year, so we can say, Stonebwoy may quit by May this year if he decides not to extend his working relationship with the label.
After the signing on of his contender Shatta Wale, media reports erupted indicating he was not happy with his current record label and had wanted to bring his contract to an abrupt end which will be a breach of the contract but was persuaded to stay on according to close sources.
Confirming the happenings, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Zylofon Media, Mr. Arnold Asamoah Baidoo on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm stated that the artist is likely to leave the label early this year when his contract expires.
According to him, the discussion to review the contracts of artists on the label has come up for discussions last year, but only that of Stonebwoy was reviewed by the Record label.
Though the above leaves a lot of questions, he went on to explain, “Stonebwoy’s contract was reviewed from four years to a year. In May 2019 his contract with Zylofon Music will expire. But all other artistes’ contracts remain at four year.”
