Ghana’s biggest weekend in music is here! The first night of the two-day event commenced on Friday (May 6) with a live special broadcast from the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, where some top musical artistes were celebrated with enviable prizes in categories spanning “Music for Good”, “Best African Artiste of the Year”, “Songwriter of the Year”, and “Producer of the Year”.
Aside from memorable musical moments, the first night of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards also featured some noteworthy fashion moments. Shortly before the organizers began awarding trophies to deserving winners for their brilliant creativity, Ghanaian musicians, music professionals, executives, stakeholders, and others descended on the red carpet in their wildest, most distinctive fashion sense, embracing extremely glamorous looks.

The 23rd VGMA will culminate tonight with a live celebration of the people, culture, and music from Accra’s Grand Arena. The event is organized by Charterhouse, Ghana’s leading events company, and is sponsored by the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), and telecoms giant Vodafone.
