”We Need To Reinstate The Deminished Highlife Music” – Gyedu Blay Ambulley.

Veteran Ghanaian Highlife and Rap musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has inculpated; tabled an accusation that, the local media is liable to account for enormously weakening in force or intensity of the veritable Ghanaian highlife music.

According to Mr. Gyedu Blay Ambolley, the local media’s, especially the mainstream media has garnered more interest and pleasure in elevating the Reggae/Dancehall genre of music, leaving the authentic Ghanaian Highlife genre of music to become less clearly visible and seemingly disappearing.

Speaking in an interview, the multi-talented musician stated that, the new breed of musicians have cultivated the interest in indulging into the production of other genre of music, including the Reggae/Dancehall which has received an overwhelming support from the mainstream media including the web portals.

According to the ”Simi Rap” hitmaker, the up and coming Ghanaian musicians have neglected and failed to inherit the treasuries of Highlife genre of music the old folks left behind and foresee it to be a nation’s asset, adding that, the young folks does more dancehall, singing in patoa, which has emboldened the Highlife music to loose it freshness, vigour, or vitality.

Veteran Ghanaian Highlife musician, Mr. Gyedu Blay Ambolley pleaded on stakeholders to come together and alleviate the situation, explaining that, the media, including Ghanaians at large needs to unite to rightfully avenge for, and reinstate the spot of Highlife music in the country.
