African artistes Stonebwoy, Davido, Tems tapped for Promiseland Festival in Australia

Stonebwoy has been announced as one of the performers who will take center stage at this year’s Promiseland Festival in Australia.

Now in its 25th edition, the festival is a multi-genre live music experience showcasing the culturally diverse, invigorating, and effervescent sounds of multiple continents—genres and sub-cultures of music that have gained unparalleled popularity across the Australian and global music scenes in the last decade as numerous internationally renowned artists tap into their unique sounds.

Slated for Saturday, September 30 to Sunday, October 1, on Queensland’s Gold Coast (Doug Jennings Park), the Ghanaian cross-over artist will join a stellar array of afrobeats, amapiano, reggae, and r&b stars, including hip hop and rnb royalty Ms. Lauryn Hill, global afrobeats star Davido, Nigerian singer/songwriter Tems, and Jamaican GRAMMY kid Koffee, who will create the unique atmosphere that has made the festival a global sensation. The show will also mark his return to Australia for the first time in close to a decade.

Fans will also be able to see additional stars throughout the weekend, such as Fireboy DML, L.A.B., Ayra Starr, The Composers, Uncle Waffles, Mike Akox, and more.

Festival spokesperson Emal Naim, of FestCo Events, said the concept of Promiseland had been under development for some years. “My partners Bernard Kumar, Andy Tuumaga, and I had been working on the concept of a specialist festival to cater to Afrobeats, Amapiano, Reggae and R&B for some years, but our first attempts had to be shelved in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. We have all been deeply involved in the music sector as promoters, agents, and international touring specialists for many years and knew that an event such as Promiseland was badly needed in Australia.”
