After a groundbreaking sold-out first edition, the team behind Afro Nation and Afro Nation Ghana are continuing its legacy by bringing the party to the stunning beaches of Puerto Rico from March 18th-21st 2020. The Black-owned 4-day festival is set to showcase talent from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean alongside traditional food, dance, art and fashion, all set to the backdrop of the breathtaking Caribbean Sea.
Promoters bringing the African diaspora together through music and entertainment and orgarnizers of Afronation Concerts have announced multiple awards winning Ghanaian reggae-dancehall recording artiste, popularly christened Stonebwoy among the first wave of artistes to perform at the maiden intallment of the South American edition of the most attended outdoor event.
The one time Grammy awards nominee will be performing a host of his songs alongside, Jamaican Superstar – King Beenie Man, Davido, Patoranking, Burna Boy, 2Baba, Chronixx, and supported by, Afro B, Busiswa, Kranium, Patrice Roberts, Rotimi, Shenseea, Teni, The Compozers.
Afro Nation Puerto Rico is the newest addition to the ever-growing global festival family, a North American debut that follows first editions in both Europe and Africa. As with the other editions of the festival worldwide, the lineup for the first American outing will draw from a pool of the biggest stars in Afrobeats, dancehall, hip hop and R&B, as well as having a Latin flavour in keeping with the festival’s setting.
Cited as the “Puerto Rican Spring Break”, Afro Nation Puerto Rico looks set to unite locals, African-Americans and the diaspora for a hedonistic celebration of Black music and culture. Held in the Puerto Rican capital city of San Juan, the four-day event invites music lovers to explore the beauty of the Caribbean island, and come together for another unforgettable beach party in the sun. A new series of music festivals aimed at predominantly young people of color, the triumphant first edition of Afro Nation saw 20,000 music fans flock to The Algarve in Portugal this August for an incredible line-up spanning across afrobeats, hip-hop, UK rap, reggae and dancehall.
