American international and superstar singer, popularly known by her stage name as Alicia Keys is On today 6th June 2021 celebrating 20th year Anniversary of her debut studio album ‘Songs In A Minor’.
The singer had earlier shared her first ever song recorded as part of her album’s 20th Anniversary Edition dubbed ‘Foolish Heart’.
According to her earlier in a statement of Twitter, her new song is special and leads her to where she is going next in some ways.
”Isn’t it amazing!!!!?? Whoever hasn’t heard it needs to stream ASAP. I released it cause it’s special and it leads us to where we’re going next in some ways…”
she wrote.
Alicia Keys’ neo soul album was released on the 5th of June 2001. Four singles, ‘Falling’, ‘A Woman’s Worth’, ‘How Come You Don’t Call Me’ and ‘Girlfriend’ were earlier released on the 2nd of April 2001, 12th of February, 4th of June and 24th of December 2002 respectively before the official release of the album.

Meanwhile, ‘Songs In A Minor’ debuted number one on the US Billboard- 200, selling 236, 000 copies in its first week. The album remained number one on the chart selling 450, 000 copies in its second week. It became one of the best selling albums of 2001. As of June 2014, the album has sold 6, 348, 000 copies. Billboard ranked the album at number 32 on the Billboard 200 Decade – end chart for the 2000s and at number on the Top R&B/ Hip Hop Albums decade end chart.
Some Awards And Accolades
‘Songs In A Minor’ led the singer to win five awards at the 2002 Grammy Awards. She won Song of the year, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song for ‘Falling’, Best R&B album, and Her ‘Falling’ was also nominated for Record of The Year. Keys became the first Solo female artiste to win five Grammy Awards in a single night.
