Ghanaian rapper, born Samuel Adu Frimpong popularly known by his stage name as Medikal has narrated interestingly, how he makes money from his music in the Covid- 19 pandemic even tough artistes are banned from playing shows.
The rapper had earlier insisted that he makes money from music even though there is a global pandemic. This comes after he was accused of engaging in fraudulent activities.
Speaking in an interview on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’ with legendary and iconic host, Abeiku Santana, the AMG Business act revealed that big companies pay him huge monies to advertise their products and services.
The rapper believes that he is a big brand.
According to him, artistes don’t make money through performances and music streams alone but the influencing of brands of big companies.
”I’m a brand, I’m a very big brand. Companies pay me to do advertise their stuff for them, I get paid, huge amount of money. Sometimes is not about just performances and people streaming your music alone, is about you influencing brands belonging to big companies out there”
he said.
