According to a report from Boxingscene.com, Ghanaian-British professional boxer, and the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe has been withdrawn from the Frampton bout last week for undisclosed reasons.
The 24-year-old Dogboe, 20-2 (14 KOs), has lost his two bouts, both to Emanuel Navarrete. Navarrete wrested Dogboe’s title away from him last December via wide unanimous decision. He won an even more one-sided rematch in May, stopping Dogboe in twelve.
The losses prompted Dogboe to seek out a new trainer that would assist father and current trainer, Paul Dogboe. After trying out Freddie Roach, they ultimately settled on former multi-weight champion and boxing legend, James “Lights Out” Toney, as their new coach.
Dogboe says he is likely to move up to 126-pounds in his next bout. Yet, no opponent has been named, neither has a date been given. It’s becoming increasingly unlikely that he will return to the ring this year.
