Camidoh, King Promise & Mayorkun team up for a riveting “SUGARCANE” remix performance | 2022 VGMAS

Camidoh marked his performance debut at the just ended most coveted Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony. The Afropop, Afrobeats artiste opened his set performing alongside the piano for a stripped version of “Hot Pursuit”, a standout track from his debut EP “CP” (Contigency Plan).

After performing to a few striking chords, he switched the tempo, and the singer was joined by featured artistes King Promise and Mayorkun for their debut performance of their chart topping single “Sugarcane” remix. The energetic and lively rendition of the song transformed the whole set into jam session, and was enjoyed by fellow artistes in the crowd (including KiDi, Hajia 4Reall, Adina, Kuami Eugene, Mr Drew and more) who sang along to the feel-good tune.

“SUGARCANE” remix was premiered in April of 2022, after the original version enjoyed mainstream success and credited with over 30 million streams worldwide.

On May 5th, the remix, which has additional vocals from King Promise, Mayorkun, and Darkoo, scored a number one placement on the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 Chart – becoming the second Ghanaian artiste to score this remarkable success few weeks after Black Sherif broke into the chart with his commercial success, “Kwaku The Traveller”.
