A non-profitable and governmental association that is geared towards promoting the culinary chef profession; Chefs’ Association of Ghana (CAG) has formally outdoor-ed the second (2nd) edition of the largest food festival on the West African region dubbed, “West African Food Festival”
The week long festival celebration is slated for Tuesday, October 1st, through to Sunday, October 6th, 2019 at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (A.M.A) square or Gardens, Accra. The 2nd edition of the food festival is themed “Celebrating African Heritage Through Cuisine”.
The West African Street Food Festival is a large, family-friendly festival featuring independent vendors selling food, merchandise, art, all celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of west African food. Dishes from 16 West African countries will be featured for foodies to indulge in. A bar will be stocked well, where drinks can be paired perfectly with selected dishes (or simply knock back a few signature cocktails). Since its inception, the festival has been proudly supported by Olam.
This year’s edition of the event will witness a host of activities to make it a remarkable version. On day 1, there would be a master class organized by Top Class Chef, city & factory tour on the second day, on day 3, Chefs will move to the classroom(universities), and the festival itself will have a grand opening ceremony on the 4th day.
There would be a culinary/pastry competition on the 5th day with competing countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Benin, Togo, Gambia, and Cameroon. And the closing ceremony will be on the 6th day. There would be various exhibitions from food to fashion and a master class to be organized by Top Class Chef.
