Host of 3Music Awards 2021 and media personality, born John Foley popularly known in the media space as Jay Foley has said that he contacted legendary and celebrated producer, Da Hammer to learn how to produce beats at the age of 18.
According to the finest broadcaster, he mustered the courage to have approached Hammer after completing his second cycle education at Achimota Senior High in 2001.
Jay Foley in a Facebook post sighted by GBAfrica.Net mentioned the producer as the brain behind his Industry name ” Jay Foley”.
According to him, he, Hammer demanded he be referred to as Jay Foley after he had mentioned his name as John Foley to him.
He stated that meeting the producer was the beginning of the man he is today, thanking him for inspiring him.
” In 2001, a few days after I completed Achimota school, I mustered some courage to call one of Ghana’s finest producers, Edward Osei aka Hammer of the Last Two, my request was simple, I wanted to learn how to make beats. I was 18. When I met him finally, he asked me my name and I said John Foley. And he said to me, gentleman, from this day onwards, I will call you Jay Foley.
