Dean of Students at Univ. of Ghana Debunks Claims Made By Shatta Wale About Show Cancellation

The Dean of Students at the University of Ghana has debunked claims made by Afro-dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, regarding the cancellation of a show he was scheduled to headline.

Shatta Wale was slated to perform at a Reunion Rave on June 8, as part of the TF Hostels Hall week celebration. However, the show was cancelled by the Dean of Students, leading to a series of claims by the artiste.

Shatta Wale claimed that fellow artiste, Stonebwoy, who was billed for a similar show at Dr. Hilla Limann Hall on Saturday, June 8, influenced the Dean’s decision to cancel the show. According to Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy had contacted the school’s authorities to have the show cancelled.

In an interview on Radio Universe on Monday, June 10th, the Dean of Students at the University of Ghana, Prof. Rosina Kyeremanten categorically denied these claims, stating that they are false. The Dean clarified that the cancellation was due to a breach of directives by the organizers, not due to any external influence.

Prof. Rosina Kyeremanten further explained that the University had not approved an Artist Night (Reunion Rave) for TF Hostel; instead, approval was granted for a Karaoke Night. The decision to cancel the show was due to procedural adherence concerns, not due to any interference by Stonebwoy or any other party.
