Though gospel act, Diana Hamilton was crowned Artiste of the Year at the just ended VGMA 22, dancehall act cum music critic, Mr Logic believes she didn’t win the award.
Diana Hamilton was nominated in the category alongside rap heavyweight, Sarkodie, Lynx Entertainment acts, Kuami Eugene and Kidi, rapper and AMG Business act, Medikal etc.
According to him, the singer was not popular than the secular acts she defeated for the prestigious award.
Producer, Kwesi Ernest had earlier called out the critic to apologise to the ‘Adom’ hitmaker over his comment.
Appearing on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz Agenda’, Logic stated that he can only apologise to the singer if she is hurt over his comment but can’t retract it.
”Kwesi Ernest asked me to apologise to Diana Hamilton and I told him I can only apologise to her if she is hurt by my comment but I can’t retract my statement. I don’t do retractions”
he said.
According to him, though the act deserved the award, she didn’t win it.
”You can never argue that the gospel artiste was popular than the secular artistes. You can’t argue this anywhere. Diana Hamilton didn’t win, She did not win. Is not as if she didn’t deserve but she didn’t win”
logic added.
