Yesterday marked a day many will ink down as the redefinition of the word shutdown as the forecourt of the Accra mall packed thousands who got trilled with performances by their favorite musicians.
What started last year as a decade celebration of DJ Mic Smith known in real life as Michael Owusu-Smith, one of the few who has demonstrated a monstrous mastery of his craft in putting Ghanaian and African music on the map is now becoming a musical festival as this years event started with a workshop and symposium and crowned it yesterday with the shutdown concert.
The packed crowd jammed as the Crème de la Crème’s in the music space mounted the stage. Among them were; Stonbwoy, Captain Planet, Kwesi Arthur, DopeNation, Wendy Shay, Ede, D Cryme, Gasmila and Praiz all the way from Nigeria and other musicians who came out on the night to support.
We are proud of you Dj Mic Smith, your flawless control of the turntables has endeared you to the hearts of many in Ghana and across Africa, congratulations on this feat.
