With close to 150,000 followers on TikTok, Ghanaian DJ Millzy has achieved a significant social media milestone by becoming the most followed DJ in his country. The official DJ of Y107.9 FM’s well-liked “Dryve of your Lyfe” show has revived his well-known mix series, “Pine & Jinja Mix,” in honour of this accomplishment.
Today marks the release of the first instalment, “Pine & Jinja Mix 001,” which offers a distinctive cultural experience that combines music with a carefully chosen ambience.
Described as a “balcony mix session with a selected group of people,” the series promises to deliver a fresh sound every other month, culminating in a live event in December.
Short video reels from the project have already generated a massive buzz on TikTok, accumulating over 1 million views in just one week.
Joining DJ Millzy, known as “Pine,” on this venture is MC EL CHAPO, who takes on the persona of “Jinja.” Together, they aim to create an immersive musical journey celebrating Ghana’s vibrant culture.
While the audio version of “Pine & Jinja Mix 001” is now available, fans can look forward to the video edition, set to premiere on YouTube next week.
