Nigerian music producer Don Jazzy has been unveiled as the official brand ambassador for New Age Nigeria, a mobile phone accessories brand.
According to Music In Africa, the unveiling ceremony coincides with the relaunch of the brand, which saw the company introduce a range of new products, including the Jazzy Earbuds, named after the CEO of Mavin Records. The company, founded in 2008 by Kingsley Okpala, asserts to be the first locally produced line of mobile phone accessories in the nation of West Africa.
“Please join us to welcome the new face of New Age Premium Mobile Phone Accessories @donjazzy to the New Age family,” New Age wrote on social media. “At the relaunch party, we didn’t just unveil our new brand ambassador, we also relaunch our brand and unveiled our new range of premium earbuds.”
Don Jazzy’s latest ambassadorial deal adds to his list of partnerships including crypto company Quidax. A leading name in African music circles, Don Jazzy is credited with contributing to the careers of multiple top Nigerian acts including D’banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage and Rema.
Earlier this month, Apple Music announced that Don Jazzy would be hosting a monthly radio series on Apple Music 1 called Don Jazzy Radio. The show will see the musician and entrepreneur curate music from the golden age of Afrobeats while offering essential insider takes on the African music scene as a whole.
“It’s a great opportunity to host my own radio show on Apple Music 1,” Don Jazzy said. “We are always looking to catalyse important conversations on the music coming out of Africa, on the people and the culture. This is a huge platform to further promote Afrobeats to the world. I’m very excited about the possibilities and I can’t wait to show you all what we have planned.”
