Minister for Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh on yesterday 25th, March 2021 had a virtual meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Tullow Oil, Mr. Rahul Dhir, Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Ltd, Mr. Wissam Al- Monthiry and some leading executives of the company.
The purpose of the meeting was to see the Energy Minister receive briefings of the company’s operations in Ghana, it’s strategic direction for 2021 and beyond and also to discuss a number of outstanding issues between Tullow Oil and the Government.
Dr Prempeh in his remarks stressed out that the ruling NPP Government believes in the ability of individuals and entities to make profits from their investments.
He noted that the Company and others invested in the country when no one thought it was worth doing so.
According to him, Tullow’s significant contribution to the country’s educational system in particular is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) function.
Dr. Prempeh was also delighted to note the oil Company’s plans to scale up investments in the country.
” We want to have a long-term partnership with the company and I believe is important to look back at our relationship and see how we can move on” He said
