Fireboy DML is riding high lately. On Christmas Eve 2021, Ed Sheeran jumped on “Peru,” a track the Nigerian singer had originally freestyled on a flight to Miami. Then, earlier this month, he appeared on the Sickick remix of Madonna’s 1998 hit “Frozen,” a move cosigned by the pop icon herself. Today he’s shared “Playboy,” his first solo single of the new year.
On the new song, DML kicks back and basks in his newfound global fame, sounding perfectly content over a buoyant beat. “Girlie wanna play with a big playboy like me, oooof!,” he sings confidently on the hook, celebrating his success.
