Ghanaian Poet Koo Kumi Paints The Picture Of Love And Death In A Beautiful Piece “I’ll Be Waiting”

Ghanaian Poet Koo Kumi shares new visuals of his beautiful piece, “I’ll Be Waiting”. The piece talks about love and death, how both either make us feel hopeless or helpless.

This poem is from the “Woke On The Mountain Album” a debut poetry album released in 2019. “Woke on the Mountain,” is composed of different poetry pieces about love, religion, mental health, politics, and self-motivation.

“I’ll Be Waiting” was recorded and produced by Abochi the “Bestie Hitmaker”. The video is a collaboration between Koo Kumi and Owen. M Hart from the United States. Owen M. Hart is a Washington DC-based creative director who often uses the mediums of photography and videography. He both creates, curates, and captures deeply emotional and human portraits as subjects and clients.

The work examines the concept of departure against the idea of love and death. How death makes us feel helpless and love makes us feel hopeless. According to Koo Kumi, he has felt both emotions before hence the creation of this piece. Koo Kumi’s idea of death and love seems similar so he chose to combine the two and make it one.

The poem was written in 2014 and recorded in 2018.

Allow Koo Kumi to take you on a journey with his new piece.
