The government of Ghana in the quest to give the art and entertainment industry a facelift has kick started a Masterclass for industry people.
On February 5, 2019 at the Accra Information Tourist Centre, the first edition of the Masterclass program was rolled out and was yesterday mentioned by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo while presenting the third State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Notwithstanding, industry persons have complained bitterly about the non passage of the creative art bill and the creation of the creative art fund, but, in response, the President laid to rest all doubts saying.
“We have worked to finalize the Creative Arts Bill, leading to the setting up of the Creative Arts Fund. For the first time, in 2018, the government provided support to the Creative Arts Council, and the Creative Arts Masterclass, to build capacity of Creative Arts practitioners.” He noted.
The creative art Masterclass was put together by the Creative Arts Council under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and in attendance where creatives from the various disciplines of the arts.
The participants were taken through making good use of digital platforms amidst other pertinent topics.
The Masterclass according to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture will be held once every month.
