Gyakie was supposed to kick off her Europe and UK tour this month in Manchester, UK, but, today (May 18), the singer announced that she would have to postpone the trek, citing health concerns.
“My lovely people, your girl is not well. Fighting everything to get better for my shows this week but I can’t fight myself no matter how hard I try hate to postpone but all purchased tickets are valid for the new dates which will be communicated in no time. However, I hope to be fit enough to see yall at the festivals I’Il be performing at” she shared on her Insta stories.
Gyakie’s four-city tour was scheduled in support of her latest record “My Diary”, which landed last summer. She was slated to kick off her tour at Gorilla in Manchester on May 19, stopping at LaFayette in London, O2 Institute, Birmingham, before concluding in Paris on May 26th.
Earlier this month, Gyakie delivered a medley performance at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where she was nominated in five categories: Album/EP of the Year (for My Diary), Record of the Year(for Far Away), Best Afrobeats Song (for Something), Best Afrobeats/Afrobeats Act, and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year (for Something). She took home the honor for Record of the Year.
