Hero Concert Launched; Kuami Eugene Readies For The Maiden Edition.

SLIP Entertainment, in partnership with recording and distribution label, Lynx Entertainment have launched the maiden edition of a musical concert aimed at elevating the Ghanaian Highlife genre of music dubbed “Hero Concert”.

With official authorization, the event was launched on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Accra Tourist & Information Centre’s conference hall, Accra, ­Ghana, and was witnessed by a host of traditional mainstream media practitioners, including Journalist, News writers and some social media commentators.

The maiden edition of the event is slated for Friday, October 4, 2019 at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill. The Hero Concert will host Ghanaian born highlife and  afrobeats singer-songwriter, Eugene Kwame Marfo known in the creative and arts sector as Kuami Eugene, as the headliner.

The Lynx Entertainment signee is expected to revive and leverage the Highlife genre of music from other competing genre such as, reggae/dancehall, hip pop with a remarkable performance on the event night. He will be assisted by veteran highlife musician Rex Omar whose dexterity can’t be underrated.

The event is geared towards inculcating a sense of national pride, foster music tourism and expose indigenous highlife music and afro-fusion to its diaspora. It also has an objective of bridging the wide gap left within the highlife space, as majority of entertainment enthusiasts have generate an intense feeling and compassion for other genres.

Kuami Eugene will perform a good number of songs from his catalogue and composed songs from other legendary Ghanaian highlife musician.

Highlife is a music genre that originated in present-day Ghana early in the 20th century, during its history as a colony of the British Empire. It uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan music, but is played with Western instruments.

Meanwhile, speaking at the press launch of the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Slip Entertainment, Mark Okraku Mantey, tasked creative and arts players to be grateful for the supported given to them by the entertainment industry couriers (gatekeepers) as he believes the mainstream media employ a lot to project their talent.
