Minority Leader Hon. Afenyo Markin has spoken against the recent removal of Ghana’s Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkonoo.
According to him, the Minority side of Parliament is not happy with the manner in which the immediate former Chief Justice was removed from office by President Mahama.
Speaking on behalf of his side of the House, the Member of Parliament described the CJ’s removal as a politically motivated action taken by the President.
Afenyo Markin believes the NDC was retaliating rather than enforcing accountability under their administration.
Expressing his concerns, the MP accused both the NPP and NDC of playing ‘tit-for-tat’ games, calling for it to be stopped. “We cannot continue with the vicious cycle of you do me, I do you in our governance system”
He believes governments should be more concerned about improving the lives of their citizens.
