After Shatta Wale was not allowed to perform at the just-ended Rave Reunion concert, a rumour went viral that his colleague and industry rival Stonebwoy was the mastermind.
Though Shatta Wale was booked to perform at the TF Hall, he couldn’t make it to the night due to an “order from above”.
In a press statement, Wave Africa, organizers of the event disclosed that during their stage setup and sound check, security of the University of Ghana interrupted them, saying “It’s an order from above”.
According to Wave Africa, after they met with the institution’s leadership, they were ordered to continue with the event without Shatta Wale’s performance.
Days after the rumour, 1 Gad has finally broken his silence on the controversies surrounding the cancellation of his colleague’s performance.
In an interview on Assase Radio, he stated categorically he never masterminded the cancellation of the event, describing the accusation as “ridiculous”
He explained ” It’s ridiculous to have heard because it’s just like waking up and being accused of being very very very powerful. I don’t have such powers. I don’t have the power to cancel my brother’s performance and even if I had, I wouldn’t abuse it”
