The call for investment into one’s musical craft heats up as UK based Nigerian Promoter, Adesegun Adeosun Jr. popularly known as SMADE, Co-Founder Of AfroNation Festival pin point the essence of artists investing in themselves to cement proper ground in the music industry locally and international.
This call came to light in an interview with Andy Dosty of Hitz FM on why the neighboring countries artists’ are doing well on foreign grounds than Ghanaian artists.
He explained ‘Invest in yourself’ that’s the way to avail yourself to the world of the package you have as an artist. In that effect will create exposure for you to other people around the world and increase the followers.
To that effect, “one should have a structured team outside the county that works to project the brand”. This is coupled with intelligent PR, strong business plan and ideas to aid Ghanaian artists to reach the apex.
He further hammered on the disconnect between artist and promoters to be bridged in other to foster and create strong and harmonious force in conquering the international demands. ‘Gone are the days that promoters reach artist, but now artist should reach out more to us”.
