“I’m Not Ebony Reigns’ Replacement. – Nikki Banks

GREATER ACCRA, GHANA – Belinda Asabea, Ghanaian born reggae-dancehall, and afro-fusion recording and performing artiste, known within the entertainment landscape as Nikki Banks, has stated that, contrary to reports circulating within the media space, she is not the replacement of the late reggae-dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns.

According to the Double flex entertainment and record label frontliner, she has a unique personality that is totally different to the late singer, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, explaining that, she posses characteristics and qualities that embolden her to look odd out of the masses.

Reports circulating within a cross-section of the traditional media and on the social media has it that, Nikki Banks is a perfect replacement for the late Ebony Reigns as far as her voice and singing style are concerned. Ebony was killed instantly in a traffic collision on 8 February 2018 whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother.

However, speaking in the opposite direction of these reports, Nikki Banks revealed that, she’s never the replacement nor the successor of the late Ghanaian musician, urging the traditional media to desist from such reportage and accept her as who she is, so that she can produce and release good song for love of the culture.

Nikki Bank was born and raised in Akuapem Mampong in the Eastern Region, of Ghana, Berlinda comes from a family of 5; she is the second born. She cites the music of Jane Macgizmo as an early influence at an early age. The girlhood idol became her mentor when she was at the age of 12.

Upon discovery, Double flex entertainment took her under his wing to show her the ropes of the music industry and introduced her to her manager, a music business mogul, Latoya Smith who would go on to manage Nikki’s illustrious career. She currently has her first single out titled, “Roman Sister”, produced by one of the finest Beat makers MOG.

The tune comprises of distinctive musical communication elements, incorporating instrumentals and vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner. In the song, Nikki Banks was responding to critics who were describing her to be naughty and a bad girl. According some critics, she does the unthinkable just to achieve what she wants, but to deny all these claims, Nikki stated that she is a Roman Sister, that even make her a good girl.
