Mayorkun has announced dates for his upcoming UK and Europe tour.
The tour will take the Nigerian-based songwriter and singer to multiple cities across UK and Europe. The 13-date tour will begin on 28th April at Czech Republic’s Prage. He will make stops in Italy, Denmark, Norway, France, Germany, Spain throughout May before wrapping in United Kingdom on June 4th.
“Mayorkun Europe Tour” 2023 is scheduled in support of 2021’s “Back In Office” album which spawned popular hit song “Holy Father” featuring Victony. The album has scored millions of streams and spent multiple weeks on the UK Afrobeats chart. He will be performing songs from his catalogue, including his 2020 Geng EP, as well as his latest single “Alarm”.
Acclaimed as “The Mayor of Lagos,” Mayorkun gained recognition 2016 after a video of him singing a cover of Davido’s ‘The Money’ went viral. He signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) and released his first single ‘Eleko’.
His debut album, The Mayor of Lagos, was released in 2018 and peaked at number 15 on the Billboard World Albums chart. In 2020, he released the Geng EP – a three-track EP that brings together Nigeria’s MI and YCee, Kwesi Arthur from Ghana, South Africa’s Riky Rick, Tanzania-based singer Rayvanny and Innoss B from DRC.
