GREATER ACCRA, GHANA (www.georgebritton.com) – Privately owned media house; Multimedia Group Limited broadcast Journalist, Ibrahim Ben-Bako has described host of “Cruise Control” radio show on Hitz 103.9 FM, Merqury Quaye as a beast, as far as creating an atmosphere for patrons of an event is concerned; hype man.
According to the entertainment Journalist, Merqury Quaye’s skill as a backup rapper and/or singer who supports the primary performers is unmatched, explaining that, his exclamations and interjections with the attempt to increase the audience’s excitement with a call-and-response chants is remarkable.
Ibrahim Ben-Bako made these revealations to Andy Dosty on Hitz 103.9 FM while reviewing the just ended MTN Musical Festival that was staged at the Accra International Conference Centre (A.I.C.C.). He highlighted that, Merqury Quaye’s performance on the night was articulate and deserve some plaudit.
He also drew special attention to the fact that, Merqury Quaye played a central but supporting role through out the event, and making his own interventions, generally aimed at hyping up the crowd while also drawing attention to the words of the MC. He also established that, his outlandish vocal style contrasted dramatically to keep the event active.
However, on the event’s night, Merqury Quaye was surprised by Michelle Diamond on stage that was backed by an outstanding performance of her hit song “Low Tempo” which features Shatta Wale.
