Minister Of Tourism, Arts And Culture Jumps To The Defense Of Shatta Wale.

Catherine Ablema Afeku, a Ghanaian politician and the Minister For Tourism, Arts And Culture has jumped to the defense of Dancehall musician Shatta Wale saying his ”Ghana is a village” comment is a ”wake up call” not an insult. 

The minister who doubles as Member of Parliament for the Evalue Gwira Constituency in the Western Region in an interview on Hitz Fm posited that Shatta’s comment was not an insult, but a wake up call on diaspora to come and collaborate in the nation building.

I watched the concert on YouTube, there were a lot of diaspora there and he was like; look at the environment you live in, and look what you left home. Why don’t you come and build the home that you left? For me, that’s how I interpreted it, not because he is in my sector and I’m trying to defend him.” Shared by Catherine Afeku, the sector minister.

She went along further hitting on the statement, saying, ”Look at this one sentence, millions of people interpreted it differently, but from where I come from, being positive, I feel he is making a call to duty for our diaspora.”

The Minister in rounding up told Ghanaians that he Shatta Wale used his platform to call for collaboration with our diaspora in the nation-building as he was calling on them to come back and develop Ghana to be just like where they live.
