Multichoice Nigeria opens auditions for BB Naija season 7

Multichoice Ghana, producers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), has opened applications for auditions as the popular TV reality show prepares to return for a seventh season sometime in June or July.

Hazel Oyeze “Whitemoney” Onou was crowned the winner of the sixth season. He received ₦90 million worth of prizes.

Based on the Big Brother television franchise, Big Brother Naija is a Nigerian reality competition television series in which contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize and other material prizes at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted from the house by viewers who vote for their favourite housemates to remain in the show.

Just like last year’s audition process, this year will be strictly online and completely free. Applicants are required to upload an introductory 3-minute video telling big brother “who you are, what unique about you, your favorite things, how you grew up and how it will shape you. Also talk briefly about your likes, dislikes, close friends, and family”.

According to the producers, eligible participants must be citizens of Nigeria with a valid national identification card (preferably a travel passport) and must be 21 years of age by June 2022. Additionally, participants must be emotionally & mentally stable to handle the heat of the show for a period of 90 days without contact with the outside world.

Speaking on the start of BBNaija Season 7 Audition, Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria John Ugbe said: “We are strengthening our investment in quality content with another season of BBNaija. BBNaija has become one of the most anticipated TV events across Africa and this season promises to be even bigger and more entertaining”.

Big Brother Naija 2022 (Season 7) start date has not been announced but judging from previous editions, the reality tv show is likely to start in June/July 2022. The drama, fun, suspense, and romance will air 24/7 on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 29. Media personality and TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who has hosted the past five editions will return as the host of Big Brother Naija Season 7.

The sixth season of the show had a double premiere on 24 July 2021 and 25 July 2021 with 22 housemates. Four new housemates were added to the game on Day 14. Hazel Oyeze “Whitemoney” Onou was crowned the winner of the sixth season. He received ₦90 million worth of prizes.
